Enriching and variety is important and having complete gecko diets ensures gecko's are getting everything they need nutritionally. Switching it up between different flavors is a great way to have that variety when it comes to the gecko diets.

Vitamins and minerals tie in with the complete gecko diets. All the complete diets are formulated to have the vitamins and minerals needed for healthy geckos. On top of that there is the external property of providing extra boosts of vitamins and minerals. This can be done by providing a small dish of calcium in the enclosure and or dusting live feeder insects.

Gutloading and dusting live feeder bugs rolls back to the first point of enrichment and variety are important. Live insects provide healthy stimulation and exercise for geckos. In the wild they eat quite the amount of live prey so it is only natural to provide that in captivity. Gutloading ensures you get a more nutritional bug. A starving insect will not be as beneficial as one with healthy food in its system. After gut loading the day before the bugs can be dusted. Dusting is especially beneficial to females producing eggs and overall adds that extra boost of vitamins and minerals.
